The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for building the scientific knowledge behind current and future growth spaces and headwinds in the health and nutrition areas, helping to inform innovation strategies and translating that scientific knowledge into innovations that benefit consumers and to maintain freedom to operate for the company.
What you'll be responsible for: Scientific knowledge: Build scientific knowledge in defined nutrition and health science areas and how this relates to areas relevant to TMICC business. These areas may be related to potential benefit areas (e.g. hydration, life course nutrition) and / or external pressures (e.g. GLP-1 RA)
Innovation support: Translate scientific knowledge into innovations (products, claims and communication) to benefit consumers. Provide expert scientific support for close to-market innovation projects and generating ideas and technology solutions to land in longer term innovation pipeline
Effective communication of the science: Ability to translate science into meaningful messages and content understandable by a variety of audiences across the organization, and externally, including non-scientists and non-experts. Translate scientific knowledge into communications, positions, Q&A documents and other materials to support external challenges.
Capability building and cross-functional collaboration: Network effectively with internal colleagues to ensure both internal capability and related external relationships are effectively leveraged.
We're looking for someone who: Knowledge and experience in, and passionate about, health and nutrition science
Degree in Nutrition science (or related field), MSc ideal
Proven history of translating a range of nutrition and health science topics into consumer and business relevant propositions, claims, positions and communication.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written
Good influencing and communication skills; ability to convince and defend own agenda in front of internal and external stakeholders
Ability to use scientific and technical judgment to guide activities and program direction
Ability to actively monitor relevant new developments and opportunities, ideally using digital / AI tools.
Ideally digital and analytical skills to support areas such as dietary modelling, product formulation simulation
