• Evaluating sourcing procedures and presenting improvement strategies to

senior management for approval

• Analyzing and calculating procurement costs and developing cost reduction

strategies

• Driving purchasing decisions based on cost and scenario analysis, as well

as market trends

• Negotiating contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply,

service, and quality

• Collaborating with the procurement department to identify and pursue new supplier

opportunities

• Conducting market research, as well as creating cost estimates and forecasts
• Estimating risks and applying risk minimizing techniques, as well as

negotiating contracts that comply with industry regulations

• Maintaining strategic sourcing relationships and developing strong partnerships

with suppliers

• Apply project management concepts to the planning and execution of the

sourcing process.

• Develop and communicate in-depth knowledge of key material market suppliers

and cost infrastructure

• Development of New Suppliers, Processes etc
• Drive strategies for Global Sourcing with right price, on-time delivery and quality
• Help determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of

business / group strategy.

• Staying current on industry and market trends and best practices

Relationship Management

• Coordinate with various departments for timely development of new parts and sourcing strategies
• Coordinate with Global counterpart on to the department related objectives & work management

Education and Experience Education

• Diploma or Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering

Professional Experience

• 10-15 years of experience in Sourcing, New Part Development
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001).
• Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies such as SPC, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
• Experience in supplier quality management and audit processes.

Languages

• English, Kannada, Hindi
• Strong verbal and written fluency in English required
• Working knowledge of Kannada required
