Head – Quality Assurance (QA)

Job Summary

M/S Goel Power Engineers LLP seeking a proactive and technically skilled Quality Assurance Head to join our Genset manufacturing unit at Silvassa. The Head – QA will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality systems across all stages of genset manufacturing. The role ensures that all products meet regulatory standards, customer specifications, and internal quality benchmarks while driving continuous improvement and zero-defect culture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Strategy & Systems

Develop and implement the overall Quality Assurance strategy aligned with organizational goals. Establish and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001). Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the plant.

2. Incoming, In-Process & Final Quality Control

Oversee inspection of incoming raw materials, bought-out components, and vendor supplies. Ensure strict in-process quality checks during fabrication, assembly, wiring, and testing. Approve final inspection and testing of gensets before dispatch.

3. Product Testing & Compliance

Ensure gensets comply with applicable standards and customer specifications. Supervise load testing, performance testing, and validation procedures. Maintain calibration of testing equipment and instruments.

4. Supplier Quality Management

Evaluate and approve vendors from a quality perspective. Conduct supplier audits and ensure adherence to quality standards. Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements.

5. Customer Quality & Complaint Handling

Handle customer complaints, field failures, and warranty issues. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.

6. Process Improvement & Quality Initiatives

Implement Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other quality improvement initiatives. Reduce defects, rework, and rejection rates. Drive continuous improvement projects across departments.

7. Documentation & Audits

Maintain all quality documentation, SOPs, inspection reports, and compliance records. Lead internal and external audits (ISO, customer audits). Ensure readiness for regulatory inspections.

8. Team Leadership

Lead and develop QA/QC teams, inspectors, and engineers. Conduct training programs to enhance quality awareness and skills. Foster accountability and ownership within the team.

9. Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with Production, Design, Procurement, and Service teams. Ensure quality is built into processes rather than inspected at the end.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (preferred) with 15+ years of experience in quality assurance in manufacturing and quality standards.
