Job Description — Head of Product

Location: Gurgaon / Gurugram

Experience: 5+years in Product Management, with significant experience leading product teams

Role Summary

The Head of Product will own the overall product strategy, vision, roadmap, and execution for the business. The role will be responsible for identifying customer and business opportunities, translating them into scalable product solutions, and driving measurable business outcomes through the product portfolio.

The individual will work closely with Business, Technology, Design, Data, Marketing, Operations, and senior leadership to ensure that product initiatives are aligned with the organization's strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Strategy & Vision

• Define and drive the long-term product vision and strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Identify new product opportunities based on customer needs, market trends, competition, and business priorities.
• Translate organizational goals into a clear product roadmap and measurable objectives.
• Own prioritization across multiple products/features based on business impact, customer value, effort, and strategic importance.

2. Product Development & Execution

• Lead the complete product lifecycle from discovery and ideation to development, launch, and optimization.
• Ensure effective collaboration between Product, Engineering, Design, Data, and Business teams.
• Establish strong product development processes and ensure timely execution of strategic initiatives.
• Remove organizational and cross-functional bottlenecks impacting product delivery.

3. Customer & Market Understanding

• Develop a deep understanding of customer journeys, pain points, and unmet needs.
• Use customer research, data, analytics, and market intelligence to inform product decisions.
• Monitor competitive products and emerging industry trends to identify opportunities and risks.

4. Business & Growth Ownership

• Drive product-led growth, revenue, engagement, retention, conversion, or other relevant business metrics.
• Build business cases and assess ROI for major product investments.
• Partner with business leadership to identify opportunities for monetization and scale.
• Track product performance through defined KPIs and continuously optimize outcomes.

5. Product Team Leadership

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing product organization.
• Define roles, responsibilities, goals, and performance expectations for product teams.
• Develop product managers through coaching, feedback, and structured career development.
• Create a culture of customer-centricity, ownership, experimentation, and data-driven decision-making.

6. Stakeholder & Leadership Management

• Act as the key product representative with senior leadership.
• Present product strategy, roadmap, performance, risks, and investment requirements to leadership.
• Align multiple stakeholders around product priorities and manage conflicting business requirements effectively.
• Influence decisions without relying solely on hierarchical authority.

7. Data, Technology & Innovation

• Promote data-driven product decision-making and experimentation.
• Work closely with technology teams to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable product architecture.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI/automation, where they can create meaningful customer or business value.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related discipline; MBA preferred (Tier 1 Colleges Preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in Product Management or closely related roles.
• Proven experience managing and mentoring Product Managers.
• Experience owning products with significant customer and/or business impact.
• Strong understanding of product discovery, prioritization, experimentation, analytics, and product lifecycle management.
• Strong commercial and strategic orientation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience scaling digital products in a high-growth organization.
• Experience managing multiple products/product lines.
• Strong understanding of B2C products.
• Experience working closely with engineering and data teams.
• Exposure to AI/ML-enabled products and digital transformation.
