Job Family Group: Marketing Group Job Description: This is a role within the Castrol organisation and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are part of the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership.
Lubricants UK Limited is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Marketing Operations to lead and optimize our marketing efforts, ensuring strategic alignment, operational efficiency, and measurable impact across all channels.
About the role: As the Head of Marketing Operations, you will lead the Marketing Operations sub-team to define, manage and future proof the Castrol global product portfolio, driving efficiency and excellence across processes, tools, and workflows. You will be accountable for portfolio planning, product lifecycle management and innovation, packaging development, and operational execution to support marketing and business goals. In addition, you will lead the development of centralised frameworks and approaches for complete Marketing planning, performance and effectiveness measurement, including owning the tracking of shared KPIs across marketing and using Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) and other analytical frameworks (supported by Hub) to understand performance against business and customer objectives for all sub-entities and markets. Y ou will deliver actionable insights to improve ROMI and guide marketing investments for maximum effectiveness. Finally, you will lead the Insights function for Castrol delivering a combination of global programs (e.g. Brand Health & Customer Heartbeat) and local research execution to support strategic influence across brand, innovation, sales and competitive intelligence.
What you will deliver: Define, manage and future-proof the Castrol product portfolio – considering new generation vehicles (including EVs), changing customer needs (such as sustainability) and adapting to new industry and OEM specifications.
Ensure that the product development lifecycle and innovation pipeline is aligned with short-term business needs (1-2 year plan) and the long-term strategy (5+ years), overseeing new product development and ensuring successful market launches.
Drive pivotal initiatives to ensure the portfolio and innovation pipelines remain competitive and future ready.
Responsible for delivering and executing a product portfolio that achieves KPIs of optimising ROI, growing sales volume and profitability and driving consistent brand health growth, ensuring the team's alignment with these objectives.
Lead the development of efficient operational processes and frameworks to prioritise and measure return on investment for all projects on the current and future portfolio.
Govern the offer development (OD&I) process and supporting system (ODIMS).
Prioritise introduction of new processes and tools, managing and deploying in-year Technology investment across the project portfolio as necessary.
Accountable for the Marketing planning process for Castrol ensuring alignment with business strategy.
Accountable for connecting business to customer outcomes by establishing shared targets, including ROMI, CLV and Marketing Effectiveness ROI to measure success and impact. By using data-driven insights, ensure that the team robustly tracks the delivery and evaluates impact and implications of shared KPIs and their alignment to commercial goals.
N.B. It's possible this activity set is expanded or changed in time, as part of an agile approach across the Castrol Marketing Network of Excellence (NoE).
What you will need to be successful: Extensive years’ of experience in operations leadership within a multi-national matrix organisation, ideally in the lubricants or FMCG sector. Strong knowledge of product lifecycle management, supply chain processes, and operational excellence frameworks. Excellent leadership and partner management skills to unite cross-functional teams. Strategic approach with the ability to manage both high-level planning and operational details. Expertise in regulatory compliance, packaging standards, and innovation pipeline management.
You will work with: Your role sits in the Castrol Marketing Network of Excellence (NoE), which is made up of a diverse and experienced team of marketers and product specialists, working together as a global centre of expertise. The NoE collaborates across markets to set strategic direction and standardise groundbreaking approaches for the Castrol business, working closely with priority local markets to co-create key deliverables and plans. You will collaborate closely with Product Technology, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams, as well as marketing specialists within the NoEs, to ensure the product portfolio remains competitive and compliant. Your role will also involve frequent interactions with regional and local market representatives to ensure global alignment and consistent delivery
