Head of HR

• A leading global shipping / maritime organization is hiring a Head of HR India to establish and scale its India people function.
• This is a high-impact leadership role partnering closely with India business leadership and the Global HR Director (overseas) in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
• Applications will be considered only from candidates with experience in shipping / maritime organizations.

Role Overview:

You will lead the end-to-end HR function for India, acting as a strategic advisor to leadership while aligning local execution with global people strategy.

• The role requires strong business partnering capability, execution depth, and change leadership within a maritime operating environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic HR partnering with senior leadership
• Workforce planning, organizational design, and capability building
• Talent acquisition, succession planning, L&D, and performance management
• Leading change and transformation initiatives
• Managing complex employee relations and labour law compliance
• Designing HR policies aligned with global and local standards
• Leveraging HR analytics to drive insights and business decisions

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 15-20 years of progressive HR experience in senior HRBP / Head HR roles
• Full-time MBA from a Tier 1 institute
• Mandatory experience in shipping / maritime companies
• Experience in complex, global organizations
• Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws with global HR exposure
• Proven experience in building and scaling HR frameworks
• Commercially astute, data-driven, and hands-on leader
