Role Description The Head of Engineering will lead the engineering function, overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of technology solutions that support Esse India's immigration and visa consulting operations. This full-time, on-site role based in Canada involves managing engineering teams, setting technical direction, and ensuring that systems are secure, reliable, and scalable. The role includes coordinating software development projects, aligning technical roadmaps with business goals, and collaborating closely with operations, product, and leadership to improve workflows and client-facing platforms. The Head of Engineering will be responsible for establishing best practices in engineering management, monitoring project delivery timelines, and mentoring team members for continuous improvement. The position also requires evaluating new tools and technologies, optimizing system performance, and ensuring compliance with relevant data protection and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Team Management and Team Leadership skills to guide and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Candidates should possess solid Engineering Management and Project Management skills to plan, prioritize, and execute technical initiatives effectively.
• Candidates should possess hands-on Software Development experience, including working with modern frameworks, architectures, and development methodologies.
• Candidates should possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with a focus on reliability, scalability, and user experience.
• Candidates should possess strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Relevant experience in leading engineering teams in product or service-based companies; prior exposure to consulting or professional services environments is an advantage.
• A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with cloud-based architectures, security best practices, and data privacy regulations will be beneficial.
