About this role
Job Title: Head Digital Twin | Utilities, Pumping Systems & Rotating Equipment
Location: Bengaluru
Experience: 10–15 Years
Employment Type: Full-Time
Function: Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning / Technology
Reports To: Chief Research and Innovation Officer
Job Summary
Pump Academy Private Limited is looking for a Head – Digital Twin to architect and lead asset-centric Digital Twin solutions for pumping stations, pumps, motors, VFDs, transformers, pipelines, reservoirs and utility infrastructure.
The role combines engineering physics, IIoT data, AI/ML, simulation and systems modelling to build real-time, decision-grade Digital Twins for performance monitoring, predictive analytics, operational optimisation and asset reliability.
This is not a 3D/BIM visualisation-focused role. We are looking for candidates with strong engineering modelling capabilities who can translate real-world asset behaviour and sensor data into scalable Digital Twin models.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the overall Digital Twin architecture for pumps, motors, VFDs, transformers, pipelines, reservoirs and pumping stations.
- Develop physics-based, data-driven and hybrid Digital Twin models.
- Build models for hydraulic performance, energy efficiency, equipment degradation, faults and failure modes.
- Integrate real-time IIoT sensor data, SCADA signals and historical asset data into Digital Twin models.
- Work with AI/ML teams on predictive and prescriptive analytics.
- Coordinate with Hardware/Firmware teams on sensor strategy, data quality and data fidelity.
- Validate Digital Twin outputs against actual field and operational behaviour.
- Enable anomaly detection, root-cause analysis and asset-performance benchmarking.
- Develop what-if simulation and operational optimisation capabilities.
- Define model/twin accuracy metrics, validation frameworks and lifecycle governance.
- Build and mentor a multidisciplinary Digital Twin team.
Candidate Profile
Education:
B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Systems Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Experience:
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in Digital Twin, engineering modelling, simulation, advanced analytics or asset-performance solutions.
- Strong domain exposure to pumping systems, rotating equipment, water/wastewater, energy or utility infrastructure.
- Experience developing physics-based and/or hybrid AI models.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and energy modelling.
- Hands-on understanding of IIoT data, SCADA systems, sensor data and asset data structures.
- Ability to convert physical asset behaviour and engineering principles into scalable digital models.
- Exposure to AI/ML, predictive analytics and simulation platforms is preferred.
