About the role:

We are looking for a Head of Diagnostics to build and scale our diagnostics vertical from the ground up. This is a founder-mindset, high-ownership role for someone who has either built a diagnostics business before or has deep operating experience in the diagnostics/pathology/imaging space and is ready to run it end-to-end strategy, P&L, operations, and team. You will own the full 0→1 journey: defining the business model, setting up operations (lab/collection/partner network), building the team, driving revenue, and owning the P&L.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Building (0→1)

• Define the go-to-market strategy for the diagnostics vertical service lines, target segments, pricing, and channel mix

• Design the operating model: in-house labs vs. partner/franchise labs, sample collection logistics, turnaround times, and quality processes

• Identify and close partnerships with labs, diagnostic chains, equipment vendors, and collection networks

P&L Ownership

• Own the full P&L for the diagnostics business revenue, cost structure, margins, and profitability

• Build the business plan, budgets, and financial models; track performance against targets

• Make pricing, vendor, and investment decisions to drive unit economics and scale profitably

Team Building

•Hire and build the core team across operations, lab/quality, sales, and customer experience

•Define org structure, roles, and reporting lines as the business scales

• Set up performance management and drive a high-ownership culture within the team

Cross-functional & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with founders/leadership on strategy and reporting

• Coordinate with marketing, tech, and finance teams to support growth

• Represent the diagnostics business in key external partnerships and negotiations

What we are looking for:

• 7-10 years of experience in diagnostics, healthcare, pathology services, or related healthcare business operations

• Proven experience owning a P&L and/or having built a business/vertical from scratch (0→1 experience is a must)

• Strong understanding of the diagnostics ecosystem lab operations, sample logistics, quality/regulatory standards, and vendor/partner management

• Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams from the ground up
