JOB DESCRIPTION MEDICAL SERVICES HEAD

Position Details

Job Purpose

To lead medical services across facilities, ensuring clinical quality, patient safety, appropriate medical care, doctor coordination and adherence to clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee medical services across Clinics, MC, IMC and Hospitals, ensuring consistent clinical standards.
• Establish and monitor clinical protocols, treatment standards, referral pathways and medical SOPs.
• Provide clinical guidance to General Physicians, specialists, nurses and other clinical teams and coordinate their functional requirements.
• Monitor quality of consultation, diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, referrals and continuity of care.
• Ensure appropriate escalation and management of emergency and high-risk clinical cases.
• Oversee doctor engagement, clinical rosters, availability and deployment in coordination with Operations and HR.
• Review clinical incidents, patient safety concerns and significant medical escalations and ensure corrective action.
• Coordinate with Diagnostic Services for investigations, critical reports and clinical follow-up where required.
• Support implementation of the Patient Journey and ensure clinical activities are appropriately integrated with patient care processes.
• Drive clinical audits, quality reviews, medical documentation and compliance with applicable healthcare standards.
• Review clinical performance, patient outcomes, service data and medical KPIs and provide recommendations to management.
• Lead clinical training, medical updates and continuous improvement initiatives for clinical teams.
• Support medical policy development, new centre/service implementation and clinical process improvement.

Qualification & Experience

• MBBS with relevant postgraduate medical qualification preferred.
• Relevant experience in hospital, clinic, healthcare network or multi-centre medical services, including clinical leadership.
