Role Purpose:

Lead the Mattress Category business end-to-end - strategy, sourcing, pricing, merchandising, and profitability - driving sustainable growth through customer-centric assortment planning and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

- Define and execute the Mattress Category strategy aligned with business goals.

- Drive category sales, margins, and profitability across retail and online channels.

- Manage assortment, product lifecycle, pricing, promotions, and inventory planning.

- Track market trends, customer insights, and competitor activity to strengthen category performance.

- Build and manage vendor relationships (domestic and international) for quality, cost, and timely supply.

- Collaborate with Buying, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, and E-commerce teams.

- Monitor stock availability, inventory ageing, and sell-through for working capital efficiency.

- Lead new product launches, seasonal campaigns, and promotions.

- Mentor and develop the category team, driving process excellence.

Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or related field; MBA/PGDM preferred.

Experience:

12 - 18 years in Category Management, Buying, Merchandising, or Product Management within Mattress, Furniture, Home Furnishing, Consumer Durables, or Large Format Retail, including at least 5 years in a leadership role, with proven expertise in P&L management, vendor negotiations, assortment planning, and retail operations.
