Role Overview

SAROM is looking for a seasoned, commercially astute HR leader with strong retail industry experience to drive people strategy, organisational effectiveness and business performance.

We seek a professional who goes beyond conventional HR management, bringing strategic thinking, business insights, operational expertise and a strong understanding of retail-driven organisations.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the complete HR function, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement, retention and compliance.

* Partner with Directors and functional heads on business strategy, workforce planning, organisational development and productivity.

* Strengthen HR practices for multi-location sales teams, sales incentives, workforce performance and employee retention.

* Identify gaps in business processes, organisational structures and manpower utilisation; recommend actionable improvements.

* Establish and drive KRAs, KPIs, SOPs, performance reviews and accountability frameworks.

* Develop leadership capabilities, succession planning and high-performing teams.

* Provide management with data-driven insights, retail industry benchmarks, HR analytics and strategic recommendations.

* Optimise manpower costs while improving operational efficiency and employee productivity.

* Build a strong culture of professionalism, ownership, discipline and performance.

* Ensure effective HR governance, statutory compliance and employee relations.

Candidate Requirements

* 1015 years of progressive HR experience, with substantial retail HR experience mandatory.

* Proven HR leadership experience in organised retail, lifestyle, home furnishings, consumer brands or multi-location retail/sales-driven businesses.

* Strong understanding of retail operations, salesforce management, incentive structures, workforce planning and productivity metrics.

* Experience partnering directly with Founders, Promoters, Directors and senior leadership.

* Expertise in HR strategy, organisational development, talent management, performance systems and statutory compliance.

* Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, commercial judgement and decision-making abilities.

* Ability to identify inefficiencies, challenge existing practices and implement practical, measurable solutions.

* Confident communicator with strong leadership, stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities.
