Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced HDG Manager to manage and supervise the complete Hot-Dip Galvanizing (HDG) operations, ensuring smooth production, optimum plant utilization, consistent galvanizing quality and achievement of production targets. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in galvanizing processes, zinc bath operations, coating thickness control, chemical treatment, production planning and team management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete Hot-Dip Galvanizing production process from material preparation through final inspection.
• Plan and achieve daily production targets
• Monitor and control zinc kettle/bath operations and ensure safe and efficient utilization of the galvanizing kettle.
• Maintain required zinc coating thickness, as per product and customer specifications.
• Supervise galvanizing of solar structures, nozzles, pipes, crash barriers, cable trays and other fabricated steel components.
• Ensure proper pre-treatment processes including degreasing, pickling, rinsing and fluxing.
• Monitor zinc consumption, dross/ash generation and minimize process losses and material wastage.
• Ensure correct dipping, withdrawal and cooling practices to achieve uniform galvanizing quality.
• Inspect finished material for coating thickness, appearance, adhesion and surface defects.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Dispatch and Production teams for smooth plant operations.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement measures to improve productivity, throughput and process efficiency.
• Maintain production records, zinc consumption reports, rejection/rework data and relevant MIS.
• Ensure proper housekeeping, 5S, safety and environmental compliance within the galvanizing plant.
• Lead, train and manage operators, supervisors and shop-floor manpower.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and timely resolution of issues related to kettle, burners, cranes, handling equipment and other plant machinery.
• Handle customer-specific galvanizing requirements and ensure finished products meet applicable specifications.

Technical Requirements

• Strong practical knowledge of Hot-Dip Galvanizing processes.
• Hands-on knowledge of zinc bath temperature, flux concentration and chemical parameters.
• Experience in controlling galvanizing coating thickness in the range of 70–80 microns.
• Knowledge of steel surface preparation and chemical pre-treatment.
• Understanding of zinc consumption, ash/dross management and process optimization.
• Experience handling fabricated steel products of different sizes, profiles and weights.
• Ability to manage high-volume production and consistently achieve production targets.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on HDG plant experience, preferably having independently managed galvanizing production operations and a production team. Experience with solar structures, pipes, crash barriers, cable trays and fabricated steel products will be highly preferred.
