Guidewire _ Functional QA Tester

Role & responsibilities

• Lead functional testing activities for large-scale, enterprise-level applications.
• Define and drive test strategy, test planning, test design, execution, estimation, and reporting.
• Work with business analysts and functional teams to understand requirements and resolve functional ambiguities.
• Develop test scenarios, test cases, test data, regression suites, and other testing deliverables.
• Establish testing standards, guidelines, templates, and quality processes for the team.
• Lead and mentor testing team members and provide technical guidance.
• Identify opportunities for test automation and drive automation initiatives.
• Track testing progress, project risks, defects, and overall deliverables.
• Conduct daily Scrum calls and prepare weekly status reports for leadership.
• Coordinate with onsite/offshore development, testing, support, and cross-functional teams.
• Perform defect analysis, troubleshooting, and root-cause identification.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5 to 8 years of overall experience in Manual and Automation Testing.
• Strong hands-on experience in Functional Testing and QA.
• Minimum 3 years of testing experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter.
• Strong understanding of Insurance domain and functional concepts.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodology.
• Experience leading and mentoring testing teams.
• Strong experience creating test strategy, test plans, test frameworks, test scenarios, and regression suites.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database validation.
• Experience in API/Web Services testing using Postman, SOAP UI, or UFT.
• Experience with defect/test management tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, Bugzilla, or similar tools.
• Exposure to automation frameworks and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, or Bitbucket is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc (CS) educational background preferred.
