Role: Guidewire Developer Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)
Must-Have
- Minimum
4+ years of hands-on experience in Guidewire application development , preferably on
PolicyCenter and/or ClaimCenter .
- Strong hands-on experience in
Guidewire configuration and integration areas .
- Good experience in
Gosu, Java, SQL/Oracle, XML , and Guidewire development standards.
- Hands-on experience in Guidewire configuration areas such as
Data Model, PCF, Business Rules, Gosu Rules, Workflows, Wizards, Batch Processes, and UI configuration .
- Experience in developing and supporting integrations using
SOAP/REST web services, APIs, XML, messaging, and external system interfaces .
- Good understanding of Property & Casualty Insurance domain preferably claims and/or policy lifecycle processes.
- Experience working in
Agile projects using tools such as
Jira, Rally, Confluence , or similar.
- Experience with version control tools such as
Git, Stash, Bitbucket , or similar.
- Ability to perform
unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, defect fixing, peer code reviews, and technical documentation .
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with business, QA, functional, and technical teams.
Good-to-Have
- Certification in any
Guidewire PolicyCenter / ClaimCenter version between 7.x and 10.x .
- Experience in
Guidewire Cloud / GWCP will be preferred.
- Exposure to
BillingCenter will be an added advantage.
- Experience with
Guidewire Studio, Jenkins, Maven, CI/CD pipelines , and deployment activities.
- Knowledge of
Guidewire InsuranceSuite integrations , plugin development, batch jobs, event messaging, and external vendor integrations.
- Exposure to
Guidewire upgrades, migration, cloud modernization, performance tuning, and production support .
- Knowledge of
GUnit testing , automated testing, or test support activities will be preferred.
Responsibility / Expectations 1 Design, develop, configure, and support
Guidewire PolicyCenter and/or ClaimCenter applications as per business requirements. 2 Work on Guidewire configuration areas such as
Data Model, PCF screens, Gosu rules, workflows, wizards, business rules, validations, and batch processes . 3 Develop and maintain
Guidewire integrations with internal and external systems using
SOAP/REST APIs, web services, XML, messaging, and integration frameworks . 4 Translate functional and business requirements into
technical specifications, design documents, configuration changes, and development deliverables . 5 Perform
unit testing, debugging, defect fixing, peer code reviews, and support QA/UAT teams during testing cycles. 6 Support
Guidewire production issues, enhancements, maintenance activities, and release/deployment support . 7 Collaborate with
business analysts, functional consultants, QA teams, architects, developers, and client stakeholders in Agile delivery models. 8 Use tools such as
Jira/Rally, Git/Stash/Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, and Guidewire Studio for development, version control, build, and delivery activities. 9 Apply understanding
Property & Casualty Insurance processes to deliver effective Guidewire solutions for claims and/or policy functions. 10 Work across different Guidewire projects/accounts as per business demand and demonstrate flexibility.
