 ABOUT THE ROLE

Work at a high-end Japanese inn in the Hakone area and learn about Japans seasonal changes and food culture through Japanese cuisine and hospitality. 

The role involves preparing for meals, serving guests, guiding guests, checking guest rooms, cleaning common areas, and supporting guest departures. 

 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare equipment and supplies for breakfast service. 
• Prepare and serve breakfast. 
• Clear tables and prepare billing arrangements. 
• Handle billing and see guests off when they depart. 
• Clean up after breakfast service. 
• Inspect guest rooms. 
• Wipe and clean areas inside the inn. 
• Guide guests and prepare supplies for dinner service. 
• Prepare and serve dinner. 
• Clear tables and clean up after dinner. 
• Learn about seasonal changes and Japanese food culture through cuisine. 

 WORKING HOURS

Shift-based working hours: 7:00 AM – 9:30 PM 

Actual working time: 8 hours per day 

Break: 60 minutes 

The daily schedule is divided into morning and afternoon/evening work periods. 

 SALARY & COMPENSATION

After completion of training

Monthly salary: From ¥222,000

• Basic salary: ¥182,000/month 
• Fixed overtime allowance: From ¥40,000/month, including 28 hours of overtime 

Probationary period

• Duration: 2–3 months 
• Basic salary: ¥182,000/month 
• Duty allowance: ¥15,000/month, including 11 hours of overtime 

Bonuses and salary increases

• Bonus: Twice a year, in September and January, for employees with at least one year of service. 
• Salary increase: Available. 

HOLIDAYS

• Approximately 8 days off per month; subject to change. 
• At least 96 annual holidays. 

ACCOMMODATION & MEALS

Employee dormitory

• Monthly dormitory rent: ¥15,000 / ¥17,000 / ¥20,000, depending on the accommodation. 
• Water and electricity costs: Paid by the employee. 
• Wi-Fi: Available in some areas/rooms. 

Meals

• Meals are provided free of charge. 
• Lunch: Rice only is provided. 
• Dinner: A prepared meal is provided.
