Qualification

B.Arch / B.E. or B.Tech (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Environmental)

Preferred

M.Arch or M.Tech in Sustainable Architecture, Energy or Environmental Planning

Experience

5 - 8 years in green building consultancy, with independent handling of at least 3 certified projects

Track Record

Demonstrated delivery of GRIHA 4 or 5 Star, IGBC Platinum or Gold, or LEED Platinum or Gold projects

Role Purpose

Own end-to-end delivery of green building certification for assigned projects, and secure the committed rating level including GRIHA 5 Star through credit strategy, simulation, documentation and coordination with the rating body.

1. Accreditation Requirement

• Accredited IGBC AP (Accredited Professional) mandatory.
• Accredited GRIHA CP (Certified Professional) mandatory.
• Empanelled GRIHA Evaluator mandatory.
• LEED Green Associate or LEED AP — preferred.
• Accreditation to be kept valid and current throughout employment.

2. Technical Skills Required

Rating Systems

• Detailed working knowledge of GRIHA (V2019 and earlier versions, SVAGRIHA, GRIHA for Existing Buildings), IGBC and LEED rating systems.
• Knowledge of the complete rating process — registration, orientation workshop, site visits, documentation submission, preliminary and final evaluation, reappeal, and rating renewal.

Codes and Standards

• ASHRAE 90.1, ECBC 2017 and NBC 2016 — detailed knowledge of applicability to rating systems.
• Awareness of state-level building bye-laws, eco-sensitive and coastal zone regulations, and green building incentive schemes.

Software Proficiency

• Energy simulation: eQuest (mandatory); DesignBuilder / EnergyPlus / IES-VE preferred.
• Daylight and passive analysis: Ecotect, Radiance / DIALux or equivalent.
• Drafting and modelling: AutoCAD; Revit preferred.
• Microsoft Word, Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint.

3. Behavioural & Managerial Skills

• Strong coordination skills across client, multiple consultants, contractors and the rating body.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects concurrently with attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English, with good presentation skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving orientation, particularly on credit trade-offs and cost-benefit decisions.
• Ability to work under deadline pressure and to escalate risks early and clearly.
• Ability to mentor junior analysts and build team capability.
