About this role
Role & responsibilities
You will design our printed catalogue from the ground up, from the grid and typographic system through to print-ready files. The finished book will be printed, bound and sent to architects and designers, so precision matters more than speed.
Responsibilities include:
- Define the catalogue's design system: format, grid, margins, type hierarchy and colour palette, suited to print and to our product range
- Design page templates for the cover, collection dividers, product pages and specification pages, then lay out the full catalogue in Adobe InDesign
- Retouch and clean product images, including cutouts, dust and reflection fixes, and colour correction, so they are consistent across the book
- Upscale and prepare images for print at 300 dpi, and flag any image that falls short so it can be reshot
- Check AI-assisted product images against the actual piece in the store, including arm and tier count, crystal and panel shape, and brass finish. Nothing goes on the page unless it matches what we deliver.
- Photograph products in the store on phone or camera, as needed, with the lighting kit we provide.
- Format specifications consistently, including metric and imperial dimensions, materials and lighting details.
Preferred candidate profile
- You must have your own laptop with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Lightroom installed
- A portfolio is mandatory, ideally including print work such as catalogues, books, magazines or lookbooks
- Experience building a layout system: grids, type hierarchy and master pages.
- Familiarity with print production: CMYK, bleed, resolution, paper stock.
- An eye for materials. Brass, cut glass and alabaster are hard to reproduce faithfully, and we need someone who notices when they look wrong
