Google Cloud Security Engineer

We are looking for a hands-on GCP Security Expert to manage and strengthen security across our internal GCP Development, Test, and Delivery environments. The role will focus on implementing security controls, maintaining governance standards, preventing configuration drift, and ensuring cost optimization across the cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and maintain GCP security controls and best practices.
• Manage IAM, service accounts, network security, firewall rules, and security policies.
• Monitor and remediate security vulnerabilities, risks, and misconfigurations.
• Ensure security standards are consistently applied across all GCP environments.
• Establish and enforce cloud governance and security requirements.
• Identify and prevent configuration drift through regular reviews and audits.
• Implement security monitoring, reporting, and compliance checks.
• Drive cloud cost optimization and governance initiatives.
• Automate security controls and policy enforcement where possible.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Expertise in IAM, Security Command Center, Cloud Logging, Cloud Armor, KMS, and VPC Security.
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, compliance, and cost management.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Security, Architecture, Operations, and Engineering teams.
• Proven experience improving cloud security posture, reducing security risks, and eliminating configuration drift.

Recommended Profile

• Experience: 5–10 years in Cloud Infrastructure & Security, including at least 5 years of hands-on GCP Security experience.
• Level: Senior Cloud Security Engineer / Lead Cloud Security Engineer / Cloud Security SME / Cloud Security Architect.
