This role demands a deep understanding of gold valuation techniques, market trends, and regulatory compliance to ensure accurate and timely assessment of gold collateral. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting the bank's gold loan portfolio by providing precise appraisals that mitigate risk and enhance customer trust. This position requires collaboration with multiple departments to streamline loan disbursement processes while maintaining the highest standards of operational integrity and customer service.
Responsibilities :-
- Conduct thorough and accurate appraisal of gold items submitted as collateral for loan processing, ensuring adherence to industry standards and bank policies.
- Evaluate the purity, weight, and market value of gold assets using standardized testing methods and tools.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of gold market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory guidelines affecting gold loan operations.
- Collaborate with loan officers and operations teams to verify collateral details and support efficient loan sanctioning processes.
- Prepare detailed appraisal reports and documentation to support loan approval and audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all internal controls, legal regulations, and audit standards related to gold asset evaluation.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or potential risks associated with gold collateral to senior management promptly.
- Train and mentor junior appraisal staff to uphold quality and consistency in gold valuation practices.
- Participate in periodic audits and inspections to validate appraisal accuracy and process adherence.
