Golang Applications Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Golang Applications Engineer based in the United States.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced backend engineer to build scalable, high-performance applications using Go in a fully remote environment. You will contribute to cloud-native platforms, infrastructure tooling, and distributed systems where reliability, concurrency, and efficiency are essential. Accountabilities: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services, cloud-native applications, and infrastructure tooling using Go.

Build and optimize production-grade REST and gRPC APIs with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.

Develop solutions for distributed systems while ensuring efficient concurrency, networking, and resource utilization.

Collaborate closely with product, engineering, operations, and business teams to translate technical and business requirements into scalable software solutions.

Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards across the development lifecycle.

Improve deployment pipelines, containerized environments, and Kubernetes-based applications to support efficient software delivery.

Troubleshoot complex production issues, optimize application performance, and contribute to continuous platform improvements.

Mentor junior engineers, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience with significant hands-on expertise in Go (Golang).

Strong understanding of Go concurrency concepts, including goroutines, channels, and contexts.

Proven experience building and maintaining production REST and/or gRPC APIs.

Hands-on experience developing applications within Kubernetes environments, including Kubernetes-native tooling.

Solid knowledge of distributed systems, networking fundamentals, and scalable backend architecture.

Experience working with relational databases, key-value data stores, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments.

Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Experience contributing to open-source Go projects, Kubernetes operators/controllers, security-focused applications, service mesh, eBPF, WebAssembly, TinyGo, or embedded systems is considered a plus.
