GM/ CFO- Finance & Accounts at East Africa

Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Finance & Accounts professional to lead the finance function of a manufacturing plant. The role will be responsible for budgeting, cost control, financial reporting, working capital management, banking, taxation, audits, statutory compliance, and financial decision support to plant operations.

The candidate should have strong experience in manufacturing/plant finance with proven expertise in ERP-based accounting

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Budgeting

• Formulate, manage, and monitor the annual financial budgets for the plant.
• Develop costing models, financial projections, and cash flow forecasts.
• Monitor budget versus actual performance and identify key variances.
• Support business planning and financial decision-making.

2. Cost Control & Management Accounting

• Implement and monitor effective cost-control measures across departments.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Manage manufacturing cost accounting, cost centres, product costing, and profitability analysis.
• Monitor stores, inventory, consumption, and production-related financial data.

3. Financial Reporting & Month-End Closure

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closure activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, MIS, and management reports.

4. Banking, Treasury & Working Capital

• Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
• Handle working capital facilities, term loans, LC/BG facilities, and project finance.
• Monitor cash flow, fund flow, receivables, payables, and working capital requirements.

6. Taxation, Compliance & Audit

• Ensure timely compliance with applicable Direct and Indirect Tax regulations.
• Coordinate statutory, internal, tax, and financial audits.

7. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and manage the Finance & Accounts team at the plant.
• Allocate responsibilities and ensure effective performance of team members

Required Qualifications & Experience

• CA Only
• Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in senior Finance & Accounts roles.
• Strong experience in manufacturing / plant-based finance operations.
• Experience in Engineering,Building Material , Steel, Heavy Engineering, or Heavy Process Industry will be preferred.
• If Candidate has Exp from African Countries will be preferred
