Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated and technically enthusiastic Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Chennai. The candidate will support geotechnical investigations, soil testing, fieldwork, data analysis, and preparation of technical reports for various infrastructure and civil engineering projects.

Fresh graduates and candidates with up to 3 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Role & responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing geotechnical investigations subsurface soil exploration, and field-testing activities.
• Coordinate with field teams, drilling contractors, and laboratory personnel for the execution of geotechnical investigations and testing.
• Review, analyse, and interpret borehole logs, SPT, CPT, DCPT, ERT and Geotechnical Laboratory Testing on Soil and Rock Samples.
• Coordinate and monitor pile load tests, including the evaluation and interpretation of test results to assess pile performance and load-carrying capacity.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical investigation and engineering reports, including soil profile interpretation, evaluate bearing capacity & settlement, foundation recommendations, and ground improvement measures.
• Perform pile capacity calculations to evaluate the ultimate and allowable axial load capacities based on soil and rock parameters, pile dimensions, and applicable IS codes.
• Assess subsurface conditions and recommend suitable ground improvement techniques based on geotechnical investigation findings and project requirements.
• Verifying accurate field records, test data, site observations, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IS codes, project specifications, quality standards,
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and project teams as required.

Preferred candidate profile

Required Skills and Competencies

• Basic knowledge of soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering, and foundation engineering.
• Familiarity with soil investigation methods, SPT, borehole logging, and soil sampling.
• Understanding of geotechnical laboratory tests and soil classification.
• Basic knowledge of relevant Indian Standards (IS codes).
• Working knowledge of MS Office; AutoCAD knowledge will be an advantage.
• Good analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work at field sites and travel as required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams.

Educational Qualification

• M.E./M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering or Soil Mechanics will be an added advantage.

Experience

• Freshers: Candidates with a strong academic foundation and willingness to learn are welcome.
• Experienced Candidates: 13 years of experience in geotechnical investigations, soil testing, foundation engineering, or geotechnical consultancy is preferred.
