Geologist- Exploration

Roles and Responsibilities

• Conduct geological exploration activities to identify and evaluate potential mineral deposits.
• Plan, organize, and execute drilling programs for resource delineation and mine planning.
• Supervise and monitor core drilling, RC drilling, trenching, pitting, and sampling activities.
• Log drill cores, prepare geological sections, and maintain accurate exploration records.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data.
• Prepare geological maps, plans, cross-sections, and resource estimation inputs.
• Support mineral resource evaluation and reserve calculation activities.
• Coordinate with mining, survey, and planning teams for development of mine plans.
• Ensure quality control (QA/QC) of exploration and laboratory sampling processes.
• Maintain geological databases and exploration reports.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and statutory submissions related to exploration.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure safe execution of exploration activities.
• Ensure compliance with DGMS, IBM, MoEF&CC, and other applicable mining regulations.
• Identify opportunities to enhance exploration efficiency and resource confidence.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 5-10 years of experience in geology, preferably in iron ore mining or a related field.
• MS/M.Sc(Science) degree in Geology or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of geological principles, including exploration methods, drilling techniques, and mine planning strategies.
• Proficiency in using software tools such as GIS systems, remote sensing technologies, and statistical analysis packages.
