Genset Testing and Validation Engineer

Test Planning & Execution Develop validation plans, test procedures, and test schedules for generator set programs. Conduct performance testing, endurance testing, durability testing, and environmental validation. Execute load bank testing for various operating conditions and duty cycles. Perform system-level validation activities. Verify genset operation under transient, overload, and fault conditions. Performance & Reliability Validation Validate power output, fuel consumption, emissions, voltage regulation, and frequency stability. Evaluate cooling system, fuel system, exhaust system, and electrical system performance. Conduct reliability and durability testing to identify potential product weaknesses. Assess startability and operational performance under varying environmental conditions. Data Acquisition & Analysis Monitor the configured data acquisition systems and instrumentation. Analyze test results and prepare technical reports. Interpret Genset and electrical performance parameters. Document failures and recommend corrective actions. Root Cause Investigation Investigate product issues identified during validation testing. Conduct root cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, and other problem-solving methodologies. Work closely with design and manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions. Verify effectiveness of design improvements through validation testing. Regulatory & Compliance Testing Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Support certification and homologation activities. Maintain proper test documentation and records for audits and customer requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and suppliers. Support new product development and continuous product improvement initiatives. Participate in design reviews and validation sign-off activities.
