Role & responsibilities

• Surgical Operations: Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures independently or under senior guidance (e.g., appendectomies, hernia repairs, cholecystectomies, trauma laparotomies, and soft tissue excisions). [1, 2]
• Patient Care: Manage perioperative care, evaluate outpatients (OPD), conduct daily ward rounds, and stabilize emergency or trauma patients in the casualty/ICU units. [1, 2, 3]
• Clinical Decision-Making: Formulate safe, evidence-based diagnostic and treatment plans, interpret lab/radiology results, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams. [1, 2]
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient medical records, surgical notes, discharge summaries, and informed consent documentation. [1]
• On-Call Duties: Participate in rotational emergency on-call schedules to manage acute surgical admissions and urgent interventions. [1, 2]
