General Manager - Security

Job Summary

KL University, Bachupally Campus, is looking for a disciplined, experienced, and dynamic General Manager Security to oversee campus-wide security operations and ensure a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and university assets.

We are particularly looking for ex-army officers with 10 to 15 years of relevant experience, preferably with expertise in security management, personnel administration, risk assessment, emergency response, and team leadership.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong leadership, operational discipline, crisis management capabilities, and the ability to manage security operations in a large educational campus environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall security operations of the university campus, ensuring the safety of students, faculty, staff, visitors, and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement campus security policies, protocols, and emergency response plans.
• Manage, supervise, and train security officers, supervisors, guards, and outsourced security personnel.
• Ensure effective access control, visitor management, vehicle movement, gate security, and perimeter protection.
• Monitor CCTV surveillance, access control systems, and other electronic security infrastructure.
• Conduct regular security inspections, vulnerability assessments, and risk evaluations across campus facilities, hostels, academic blocks, and administrative buildings.
• Establish emergency preparedness procedures for fire incidents, medical emergencies, unauthorized entry, crowd management, and other crisis situations.
• Coordinate with local police, fire services, emergency response teams, and relevant government authorities.
• Manage security arrangements for university events, examinations, VIP visits, student gatherings, and other major campus activities.
• Investigate security incidents, prepare incident reports, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Ensure disciplined deployment of security manpower, shift management, attendance monitoring, and adherence to security protocols.
• Coordinate with university administration, hostel management, transport, facilities, and student affairs teams on safety-related matters.
• Conduct regular security drills, training sessions, audits, and performance reviews.
• Prepare security reports, manpower plans, and operational updates for senior university management.
• Promote a safe, disciplined, and student-friendly campus environment while ensuring professional and respectful handling of students and visitors.

Eligibility Criteria

• Experience: 10 to 15 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the Indian Army or other defence services.
• Preferred Profile: Ex-Army Officers with demonstrated leadership and security management experience.
• Experience in personnel management, operational planning, security supervision, and emergency handling.
• Ability to lead and manage large teams with discipline and accountability.
• Strong communication, coordination, decision-making, and crisis management skills.
• Experience in institutional, campus, residential, or large-facility security will be an added advantage.
• Candidates must be willing to work from KL University, Bachupally Campus, Hyderabad.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
• Relevant military training and security management certifications will be preferred.
