Role & responsibilities

Sales Management

• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
• Identify new customers, markets and business opportunities.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and key accounts.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules.
• Monitor sales orders, pending orders, dispatches and customer requirements.
• Track market trends, competitor activities and prevailing market prices.
• Prepare and review sales forecasts, MIS and performance reports.
• Ensure timely collection of customer feedback and resolution of commercial issues.

Logistics & Dispatch Management

• Plan and monitor daily/monthly dispatch schedules as per customer requirements.
• Ensure availability and timely placement of vehicles for dispatch.
• Coordinate with transporters, drivers, mines, plant, warehouses and customers.
• Monitor vehicle movement, GPS tracking, loading, transit and delivery status.
• Optimize transportation costs and vehicle utilization.
• Ensure proper documentation including invoices, delivery challans, e-way bills, weighment slips and other dispatch documents.
• Monitor transit delays, vehicle breakdowns, shortages, damages and other logistics-related issues.
• Develop and maintain a reliable transporter network.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate closely with Production, Operations, Quality, Accounts, Purchase, Stores and Administration.
• Ensure material availability as per confirmed sales commitments.
• Coordinate with Accounts regarding customer outstanding, credit limits and payment status.
• Work with Quality to ensure dispatch of material as per customer specifications.
• Ensure smooth execution from order confirmation to final delivery.

Commercial & Cost Control

• Monitor sales realization, freight costs and logistics expenses.
• Negotiate competitive freight rates with transporters.
• Identify opportunities for reduction in freight and operational costs.
• Monitor customer credit exposure and coordinate with Accounts for payment recovery.
• Ensure compliance with approved commercial policies and delegation of authority.

Team Management

• Lead, guide and supervise the Sales and Logistics team.
• Set individual and departmental targets and review performance regularly.
• Develop team capabilities through training, coaching and performance monitoring.
• Establish clear processes and accountability within the department.

MIS & Management Reporting

• Prepare regular reports on:
• Sales achievement
• Order booking and pending orders
• Dispatch and delivery status
• Customer-wise sales
• Vehicle placement and utilization
• Freight cost
• Outstanding receivables
• Sales forecast and market updates
• Present key business updates and actionable insights to senior management.
