General Manager - Production

Purpose: To lead the plant production operations for assigned plants (2 to 3) by effective utilization of available resources, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity to achieve operational excellence and meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and oversee daily production activities to meet targets in terms of quality, quantity, cost, and timelines.
• Ensure optimal utilization of raw materials, utilities, manpower, and equipment.
• Coordinate with R&D and Quality teams for process improvements and product scale-up.
• Plan maintenance shutdown and ensure timely execution. Collaborate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Ensure strict adherence to quality standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Promote a strong safety culture; ensure implementation of safety procedures, PPE usage, and risk assessments as per EHS standards and statutory requirements.
• Investigate and report incidents, near misses, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Analyze process inefficiencies and implement improvements for yield enhancement and energy optimization. Monitor operational costs and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
• Lead, train, and motivate plant team to achieve operational and safety goals.

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. (Chemical)

Nature of Experience:

• 15+ years of experience in Batch and Continuous plant with DCS operations. Should have worked in Agrochemicals/ Specialty Chemicals / Pharma Manufacturing and in the capacity of Block head for atleast 5 years.
