General Manager - Academic Operations

We are looking for an experienced, data-driven, and strategic leader to join our team as a Senior Manager / General Manager - Academic Operations. In this role, you will take charge of the end-to-end management of Teacher Operations and the overall academic delivery experience across our online learning ecosystem.

While day-to-day scheduling will have a limited focus, your primary responsibility will be ensuring that the teacher ecosystem, live classroom delivery, student experience, academic quality, and associated operational workflows run seamlessly and scale effectively.

Key Focus Areas & Responsibilities:

- Teacher Success: Drive teacher performance, high engagement, professional development, productivity, and an overall exceptional teacher experience.

- Student Success: Ensure a consistent, engaging, and high-impact learning journey for students backed by robust academic operations and top-tier teaching standards.

- Classroom Quality: Own online classroom quality and delivery benchmarks through rigorous monitoring, continuous feedback mechanisms, and progressive improvement loops.

- Academic Operations: Manage the operational backbone of academic delivery - including teacher capacity planning, classroom operations, escalation handling, and strict process adherence.

- Performance & KPIs: Track, analyze, and drive key operational and academic KPIs via data-led performance management and structured action plans.

- Process & Automation: Identify operational bottlenecks, drive process improvements, introduce automation, and build scalable systems to maximize efficiency and user experience.

- People Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop high-performing academic and operations teams while nurturing an ownership-driven culture.

- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Technology, HR, Recruitment, Sales, and Customer Success teams to resolve operational roadblocks and optimize the overarching academic experience.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education, Management, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification (such as an MBA) is an advantage.

- Experience: 5 - 8 years of professional experience in academic operations, EdTech operations, program management, or high-growth operational environments.

- Operational Expertise: Strong foundation in KPI monitoring, performance management, process optimization, and designing standard operating procedures (SOPs).

- Data & Technical Acumen: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis; familiarity with dashboarding and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and EdTech platforms (LMS/CRM) is a strong plus.

- Interpersonal Abilities: Exceptional stakeholder management, cross-functional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
