GDC Die Designer (RFQ DFM)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design Gravity Die Casting tools as per customer specifications, casting requirements and manufacturing feasibility.
• Develop die concepts including parting, cores, slides, gating and ejection.
• Prepare 2D/3D models, tool layouts and detailed drawings.
• Perform DFM and casting feasibility studies for aluminium components.
• Identify potential casting defects and incorporate preventive design solutions.
• Review designs with CFT Team, dies inspection reports, engineering changes (ECN) and maintain proper design documentation and revision control.
• Support RFQ costing, technical feasibility discussions, die design reviews, FMEA and design validation activities.

Key Skills

• Sound knowledge of GDC / LPDC casting processes and die design.
• Understanding of gating, feeding, cooling and core design.
• Knowledge of IATF ISO Audits, APQP, PPAP, FMEA and engineering change management.
• Good problem-solving, communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 3-8 years of experience in GDC Die Design or related field (Aluminium Die Casting).
• Diploma/B.Tech / B.E. degree from a recognized institution (Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred).
• Proficiency in CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, UG NX software tools; strong understanding of tool design principles.
