GCP Data Architect - S

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures on GCP.
• Define enterprise data models, data integration frameworks, and data management strategies.
• Architect and build modern data platforms leveraging GCP native services.
• Develop and maintain data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time data processing solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, analytics teams, and solution architects to understand requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Establish data governance, metadata management, data quality, and security standards.
• Design batch and streaming data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Optimize data storage, processing performance, and cloud infrastructure costs.
• Drive architecture reviews and provide technical leadership to implementation teams.
• Ensure compliance with organizational, industry, and regulatory requirements.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, standards, and best practices.
• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives involving on-premise and cloud-based data systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or cloud data platform development.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience architecting solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong expertise in:
• BigQuery
• Cloud Storage
• Dataflow
• Pub/Sub
• Dataproc
• Cloud Composer
• BigLake
• Data Fusion
• Looker
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures.
• Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience designing ETL/ELT frameworks and large-scale data pipelines.
• Knowledge of real-time data processing and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with data migration and modernization projects.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with Git-based version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.
