Fundamental & Technical Research Analyst

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Fundamental & Technical Research Analyst with strong knowledge of the Indian equity markets. The candidate will be responsible for conducting both fundamental and technical analysis of companies, sectors, indices and market trends, and preparing research reports and actionable market insights.

Key Responsibilities

Fundamental Research

• Conduct detailed fundamental analysis of listed companies across different sectors.
• Analyse Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements.
• Evaluate financial ratios, earnings growth, margins, profitability and business performance.
• Analyse quarterly and annual results, annual reports and investor presentations.
• Study industry trends, competitive positioning and sector outlook.
• Prepare financial models and company valuation using P/E, EV/EBITDA, P/B, DCF and other relevant methods.
• Identify companies based on business fundamentals, growth potential and valuation.
• Prepare company initiation reports, quarterly result updates and sector research reports.

Technical Research

• Conduct technical analysis of equities, indices, Futures & Options and other market instruments.
• Analyse price action, volume, momentum and market trends.
• Identify support/resistance, breakouts, breakdowns and trend reversals.
• Use indicators such as RSI, MACD, Moving Averages, Bollinger Bands, VWAP, ADX and Stochastic.
• Analyse candlestick formations and chart patterns.
• Monitor derivatives data, including Open Interest, PCR and Futures & Options activity.
• Generate trading ideas with appropriate entry levels, targets and stop-loss levels.
• Prepare daily and periodic technical market updates.

General Research Responsibilities

• Monitor market movements, corporate announcements and economic developments.
• Track key sectors, indices and companies under coverage.
• Combine fundamental and technical insights to develop comprehensive market views.
• Prepare daily market reports, research notes, investment ideas and presentations.
• Communicate research findings to internal teams and clients as per company guidelines.
• Attend or review earnings calls and investor presentations where required.
• Maintain research databases, financial models and technical charts.
• Coordinate with Dealers, Wealth Managers, Relationship Managers and other internal teams.
• Ensure research output is accurate, timely and properly documented.
• Follow applicable SEBI, exchange and company research/compliance guidelines.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Indian Equity Markets and Capital Markets.
• Good understanding of both Fundamental and Technical Analysis.
• Strong financial statement analysis and valuation skills.
• Knowledge of technical indicators, chart patterns and price action.
• Good understanding of Equity, Futures & Options and derivatives.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
• Excellent MS Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Good research, report-writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to interpret market data and identify meaningful trends.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced market environment.

Educational Qualification

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• MBA/PGDM in Finance will be an added advantage.
• NISM Research Analyst, Equity Derivatives, CFA or CMT certification will be preferred.

Experience

• 25 years of relevant experience in Equity Research, Fundamental Research, Technical Research, Stock Broking, Trading or Investment Research.
• Experience in preparing research reports and generating investment/trading ideas will be preferred.
• Candidates with strong market knowledge and relevant research experience may also be considered for suitable junior positions.
