Role & responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive, performant web applications using React and Next.js on the frontend.
• Build RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js, backed by PostgreSQL/Supa base.
• Write clean, well-documented TypeScript/JavaScript code following team conventions and best practices.
• Leverage AI coding assistants (Copilot, Chat GPT, Claude, Cursor, etc.) to write, debug, refactor, and review code faster.
• Deliver features through the team's code review process, working closely with a senior engineer who reviews your pull requests and provides guidance.
• Explain and walk through any code you submit, whether you wrote it by hand or with AI assistance.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and senior engineers in an agile development environment.
• Participate in code reviews, give and receive constructive feedback, and continuously improve code quality.
• Write unit and integration tests to maintain reliability across the application.
• Contribute to technical documentation, internal wikis, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Stay current with emerging web technologies, frameworks, and AI-powered developer tools.

Must-Have Skills

• Experience: Roughly 25 years building web applications professionally, or equivalent experience demonstrated through substantial projects.
• JavaScript / TypeScript: Solid understanding of ES6+ syntax, async/await, and type safety with TypeScript.
• React: Experience building components, managing state (Context API, Redux, or Zu stand), and working with hooks.
• Next.js: Familiarity with SSR, SSG, API routes, file-based routing, and the App Router.
• Node.js: Comfortable writing server-side logic, handling HTTP requests, and working with npm/yarn.
• Databases: Working knowledge of SQL and relational data modeling (PostgreSQL preferred). Supa base experience is a plus.
• AI for Coding: Demonstrated ability to use AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Chat GPT, Claude, Cursor, etc.) to write, debug, and refactor code efficiently, and to understand, test, and explain the code they produce.
• Git & Version Control: Proficiency with Git workflows: branching, pull requests, merge conflicts, and commit hygiene.
• Problem Solving: Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and logical thinking.
