Full-Stack Software Engineer

About PropertyFlow PropertyFlow is an Edinburgh-based PropTech startup reshaping short-term rental management. We run a 5% flat-fee management model — a fraction of the industry standard — powered by our own Property Management System (PMS), dynamic pricing, and direct connectivity to 50+ OTAs including Airbnb and Booking.com. We're a small, founder-led team that ships fast. You'd own real product surface area from day one, not sit in a backlog queue. As we move parts of our stack in-house and launch new products, we need an engineer who's comfortable across the whole stack and happy to wear several hats. The Role You'll work alongside us to maintain and develop our

core platform — the PropertyFlow PMS — the system at the heart of everything we do. Our website is live, our mobile app is in the final stages of going live, and we have

several more products in the pipeline . We need someone who can take ownership of those products and reliably

build and deliver them, not just contribute pieces. This is a hands-on build role with genuine product influence. If you like owning a product from rough idea to shipped, working closely with a founder, and getting things live, you'll fit well here. What You'll Do

• Work with us to maintain, develop, and improve our

core PMS platform across frontend and backend.

• Keep our

live website and

soon-to-launch mobile app stable, fast, and continuously improving.

• Take products from our

pipeline through to delivery — owning the build end to end (scope, develop, test, ship) rather than handing off half-finished work.

• Develop and maintain integrations with our core platforms: Channex (channel manager), PriceLabs (dynamic pricing), payment providers, and the OTAs we connect to.
• Build internal tooling that makes our operations team faster (we already run React-based internal tools).
• Own deployment, monitoring, and reliability on our Azure-hosted infrastructure.
• Work directly with the founder to scope, prioritise, and ship — translating business needs into clean, maintainable software.
• Keep security and GDPR compliance front of mind, since we handle guest IDs, payment data, and owner financials. What We're Looking For

Core (must-have)

• Strong full-stack experience: a modern JavaScript/TypeScript frontend (

React ) plus backend API development (Node.js or similar).

• Mobile app development —

React Native or Flutter — with at least one app you've shipped to the App Store / Play Store.

• Solid grasp of REST APIs: both consuming third-party APIs and designing your own.
• Database design and management (SQL and/or NoSQL).
• Comfortable with cloud hosting and deployment —

Azure preferred (AWS/GCP experience transfers fine).

• Version control with Git and a clean, reviewable commit/PR workflow.

Strong plus

• Experience integrating booking, payments, or travel/hospitality APIs (Stripe, channel managers, PMS, or OTA connectivity such as Airbnb, Booking.com, Agoda, Trip.com).
• Familiarity with the PropTech / short-term rental space (Channex, PriceLabs, or comparable tools).
• Experience building booking engines, calendars, or availability/pricing sync logic.
• CI/CD, automated testing, and basic DevOps.
• An eye for UI/UX — you can take a feature from sketch to polished interface without heavy hand-holding.
• Awareness of data protection / GDPR in a product context.
