About the role Client’s Compliance and Regulatory Reporting technology team builds mission-critical solutions to meet the firm's global regulatory and reporting obligations. The team runs on cloud-native and serverless AWS architectures, uses AI-assisted development tools, and follows Domain-Driven Design and test-first engineering practices. There is no dedicated support function. Everyone wears multiple hats across development, DevOps, and production support. You must be comfortable owning problems end-to-end. Technical depth is the primary hiring bar (~65%), with meaningful financial domain knowledge required alongside it (~35%).
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, real-time Regulatory/Compliance applications using C#/.NET and SQL, accelerated by AI-assisted tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
- Model business domains using DDD — bounded contexts, aggregates, entities, value objects, domain events — with a strong focus on business correctness.
- Architect and implement cloud-native/serverless solutions on AWS: Lambda, SQS/SNS, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS).
- Design and optimize relational data models and SQL queries on SQL Server and Snowflake for high-volume, low-latency workloads.
- Own DevOps responsibilities for your components — deployments, monitoring, incident response — there is no separate ops team.
- Drive a test-first mindset — unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end automated test coverage.
- Collaborate with global Compliance and business stakeholders to shape domain models and deliver auditable, production-ready solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies — 2-week sprints, stand-ups, retrospectives — across a globally distributed team.
Required skills Technical (primary bar — ~65% of hiring weight)
- Expert-level C#/.NET with strong object-oriented and system design skills.
- Advanced SQL — schema design and complex queries. Snowflake preferred; equivalent relational DB experience acceptable.
- Kafka or similar event-streaming; JSON and Avro data contracts.
- High-throughput, concurrent/multithreaded distributed systems experience.
- AWS cloud-native services — Lambda, EKS, SQS/SNS, Docker.
- Comfortable owning DevOps and production support alongside development work.
- SOLID principles, DI, design patterns, and comprehensive automated testing.
- Practical use of AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
Financial domain (~35% of hiring weight — required, not optional)
- Working knowledge of financial instruments: bonds, swaps, options, futures.
- Understanding of realized vs. unrealized P&L — what it means and how it flows through a system.
- Compliance or regulatory reporting experience (EMIR, MiFID II, CFTC, or similar) is advantageous but weighted equally to front-office financial domain experience — either is valid.
Soft skills — non-negotiable
- Self-starter: delivers without hand-holding in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
- Multi-hat: comfortable moving between dev, DevOps, and support as needed.
- Strong communicator: written and verbal English. Able to work directly with Compliance and business stakeholders.
- Agile practitioner: experienced with 2-week sprint cadences and distributed collaboration across time zones.
- Testing mindset: automated testing is part of delivery — not an afterthought.
Nice-to-have
- Angular (front-end) — useful but not a filter criterion.
- Direct compliance or regulatory reporting system experience.
