About Trackaroo Automotive retail is one of the largest industries in the country, yet much of it still runs on outdated, fragmented software. We're changing that. Our Dealer Management System (DMS) is already being used by paying customers to run real dealership operations. We've validated the market, built a product customers rely on, and are now focused on building an engineering platform that can scale with the business.

Why This Role Exists Most early-stage startups hire engineers to build an MVP and hope customers eventually care. We're hiring someone to take a validated, revenue-generating product and engineer it for the next stage of growth. This is not a role where you'll spend months experimenting in isolation. You'll work on software that businesses rely on every day, making architectural decisions that will shape the product for years to come. You'll work directly with the Founder and have meaningful influence over our technical direction, engineering culture, and long-term architecture.

What You'll Do Your primary responsibility is to make Trackaroo simpler, stronger, and more scalable. You'll:

• Simplify and strengthen our existing architecture.
• Design systems that scale reliably as our customer base grows.
• Build deep integrations with industry-standard business platforms, including accounting software, payment gateways, WhatsApp, CRMs, ERPs, and whatever our customers need next.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, testing, observability, deployment, security, and developer experience.
• Reduce technical debt where it matters while maintaining delivery speed.
• Improve application performance, reliability, and resilience.
• Help establish engineering standards and mentor future engineers as the team grows. (We believe deleting unnecessary code is just as valuable as writing new code).

• PostgreSQL (Framework experience is valuable, but we care far more about how you think than the specific technologies you've used).

What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who has built and maintained production software at scale. Years of experience matter less than the complexity of the problems you've solved. You'll thrive here if you:

• Care deeply about software architecture, maintainability, reliability, and developer experience.
• Prefer simple, elegant solutions over unnecessary complexity.
• Think in systems rather than individual features.
• Challenge ideas respectfully when you believe there is a better technical approach, including the Founder's.
• Take ownership from problem definition through production.
• Enjoy building products that customers depend on every day. Experience with React, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, enterprise SaaS, or third-party integrations is a strong plus. Exceptional engineers from similar technology stacks are encouraged to apply.

How We Work This is a fully remote role. To build great software, we believe engineers should deeply understand the people using it. During your first two months, you'll spend approximately 6 days each month on-site with one of our largest dealership customers in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh. Seeing our product used in a real dealership provides context that no specification document can. We collaborate closely during the workday through shared core hours and regular engineering discussions. We value ownership, responsiveness, and clear communication, while giving engineers the autonomy to solve problems without unnecessary process.
