About this role
About Eximius Eximius is an AI-powered recruitment platform that automates candidate screening, scoring, and shortlisting, so recruiters evaluate quality-matched candidates instead of manually filtering through hundreds of applications. We serve enterprise hiring teams, mid to small sized companies and startups across US and India.
About the Role We’re hiring full-stack engineers who want to grow fast on a real, AI-native product - working across both our TypeScript/Next.js application and our Python (FastAPI/Flask) backend services. You’ll work alongside senior engineers, own well-scoped features, and level up quickly - code review, mentorship, and clear patterns are part of how we work, not an afterthought. You’ll build features across our Next.js application, our Python backend services, and the PostgreSQL data layer, with support from senior engineers on the harder design calls.
What You’ll Do
- Implement features across the App Router stack - API route handlers, repositories, and ReactUI - within established patterns.
- Contribute to our Python service - FastAPI/Flask endpoints and cron/queue workers - under guidance.
- Write SQL queries and contribute to schema changes, with review on the trickier data-access and permissions logic.
- Fix bugs across the stack and learn the system by shipping real, used code.
- Write tests for what you build and keep documentation current.
What we’re looking for
- 2-3 years building software (internships and strong personal/open-source projects count toward the lower end).
- Solid JavaScript/TypeScript and React fundamentals.
- Solid Python fundamentals - comfortable working in a Python backend (FastAPI/Flask exposure a plus), or a fast learner who’s shipped real Python.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Comfortable with Git - branching, commits, and pull requests in a team workflow.
- Curiosity, ownership, and a willingness to learn from code review - you ask good questions and don’t ship blindly.
Nice to have
- Next.js or another server-rendered React framework.
- Any exposure to Supabase/PostgreSQL, Redis, or cloud infra (Azure/AWS/GCP).
- Interest in working near AI/LLM features.
Our stack
- Frontend: Next.js 14 (App Router), React, TypeScript
- Backend (TypeScript): Next.js route handlers (repository pattern)
- Backend (Python): FastAPI + Pydantic microservices, Flask/Flask-RESTful (AI + reporting),Azure Functions (durable) & queue-driven cron workers
- Data: PostgreSQL (Supabase) - RPC, Realtime, Row-Level Security, pgvector
- AI: LLMs via OpenRouter/OpenAI/Anthropic behind a provider-agnostic factory; embeddings+ semantic search
- Infra: Azure (Blob Storage, Cache for Redis), Docker, Kubernetes
- Tooling & quality: Git + GitHub (PR-based workflow), Jest, ESLint, typed end-to-end, CI on every PR
How we work
- AI-first development - we use Claude Code aggressively across the codebase. You’ll learn to ship faster with AI agents while building the judgement to review what they produce.
- Mentorship is built in - code review, pairing, and clear patterns help you level up fast.
- Documentation is shared memory - we write things down so the next engineer reads one file, not five.
- Quality matters - typed, tested, reviewed; you’ll learn to think about edge cases and data isolation early.
- Ownership grows with you - you start with well-scoped work and take on more as you ramp.
