Full Stack Developer

We are hiring a Full-Stack Software Engineer to take ownership of the ClinSphere platform, a cloud-native clinical-trials application. You will maintain and extend an enterprise Python/FastAPI back end and a modern Angular front end, delivering secure, well-tested features that clinical operations teams rely on every day. This role fills a key vacancy, so we are looking for someone who can quickly become productive across the entire stack and act as the primary engineer for the product.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs with Python 3.12 and FastAPI using an async-first architecture.
• Develop responsive, accessible UI features in an Angular single-page application.
• Model data with async SQLAlchemy and PostgreSQL, and manage schema changes through Alembic migrations.
• Integrate Okta-based JWT authentication and role/claim-based authorization across the stack.
• Build and consume AI/LLM-powered features such as the in-product chat assistant, token usage tracing, and cost-budget controls.
• Ship data visualization and reporting experiences, including charts, dashboards, and PDF/Excel export.
• Write end-to-end and integration tests, and uphold strict linting, typing, and code-quality standards.
• Deploy and operate services on Azure using containers, Helm/Kubernetes, and observability tooling.

Requirements:

• Strong professional experience with Python 3.12+ and the FastAPI framework.
• Experience with async programming in Python and async web/database stacks.
• Strong knowledge of SQLAlchemy 2.0 (async) and PostgreSQL, including schema design and Alembic migrations.
• Experience with Pydantic v2 for data validation and settings/configuration management.
• Experience designing and securing REST APIs with Okta JWT authentication and claim/group-based authorization.
• Experience writing integration and end-to-end tests with pytest, pytest-asyncio, and async test clients.
• Familiarity with code quality tooling such as Ruff and mypy, with fully type-hinted code.
• Experience with containerized development and delivery using Docker or Podman, gunicorn/uvicorn, and task runners.
• Strong professional experience building applications with Angular, ideally v16+.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, RxJS, and modern reactive state management such as NgRx Signals.
• Experience with Angular Material/CDK and component-driven UI development.
• Experience working in an Nx monorepo with shared libraries and multiple applications.
• Experience with data visualization libraries and document export for PDF/Excel.
• Experience with internationalization and utility-first styling using Tailwind CSS.
• Experience implementing Okta-based authentication in a single-page application context.
• Experience with front-end testing and quality tools, including Jest, Playwright, ESLint, Prettier, and Storybook.
• Experience deploying and operating workloads on Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Helm-based deployments across multiple environments.
• Experience with application monitoring and tracing using New Relic and OpenTelemetry.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices, Git-based workflows, and automated quality gates.
• Ability to work independently across the front end, back end, data, and deployment.
• Strong discipline around testing, typing, and self-documenting code.
• Security-minded approach to authentication, authorization, and handling sensitive data.
• Clear written and verbal communication and collaboration with product and clinical stakeholders.

Nice To Have:

• Experience in clinical trials, healthcare, or another regulated/compliance-sensitive domain.
• Experience integrating LLM/AI features and managing their cost and usage.
• Familiarity with event, email, and messaging integrations.
• Comfort operating as a sole or lead engineer with strong ownership and communication.
