About this role
The Full Stack Developer II is an early career software engineer who develops, tests, and deploys software across all layers of the development lifecycle under general supervision. This role supports Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) applications for FedEx.com, contributing to secure customer login, access management, and account related functionality through integration with Identity Provider (IdP) platforms such as ForgeRock and Ping Identity. Job Summary The Full Stack Developer II is an early‑career software engineer who develops, tests, and deploys software across all layers of the development lifecycle under general supervision. This role supports
Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) applications for FedEx.com, contributing to secure customer login, access management. The position focuses on building strong full‑stack engineering fundamentals while applying modern SDLC practices, including
cloud‑native application deployment and responsible use of
AI‑enabled development tools , within established architectures and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend software components under guidance from senior engineers.
- Implement features supporting customer authentication, access management, and account functionality.
- Develop API components using Java‑based APIs and microservices.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code aligned with enterprise standards.
- Test newly developed software using unit and basic integration testing practices.
- Use AI‑enabled tools, as guided, to assist with code development, debugging, testing, and documentation within the SDLC.
- Troubleshoot and resolve defects and basic production issues.
- Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve code quality.
- Support cloud‑native deployments, build processes, and post‑release validation using CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and follow defined SDLC processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Experience developing software using Java and object‑oriented programming principles.
- Exposure to APIG, API development, and Micro Services.
- Basic understanding of RESTful API design and backend service development.
- Awareness of Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) concepts such as authentication and access control.
- Familiarity with modern identity standards including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), or SAML.
- Exposure to Identity Provider (IdP) platforms such as ForgeRock or Ping Identity.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug software issues.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
- Exposure to building or deploying applications in cloud‑native environments (e.g., containerized services).
- Familiarity with modern AI‑assisted development tools used for coding, testing, or documentation.
- Basic understanding of microservices architectures and cloud deployment models.
- Exposure to CIAM or identity‑related systems beyond core development assignments.
