About this role
Location: Bangalore, India — in office, Full-time
Compensation : 18L to 25L
About CopperPilot: CopperPilot is building an AI copilot for hardware design. Hardware teams still work across fragmented tools, manual workflows, and design context that is hard to capture. We’re building AI systems that understand hardware projects, assist engineers through chat and tools, and integrate directly into the design environments they already use. The goal is simple: help engineers design, debug, and validate hardware faster.
About The Role: We’re hiring full-stack AI engineers to build the core product and platform behind CopperPilot. You’ll work across backend AI systems, agent workflows, infrastructure, frontend interfaces, Electron, and desktop product engineering. You’ll be expected to understand user problems, design technical approaches, and ship reliable features end to end. Our stack includes
Python, FastAPI, LangChain, React, TypeScript, Electron, MongoDB, Kubernetes, and Terraform . We use
Cursor and Claude Code as part of our daily engineering workflow. You should be comfortable using AI tools seriously while still owning the quality of what you ship.
What You’ll Work On:
- Build AI workflows that understand hardware design projects, files, constraints, and user intent
- Develop systems for chat, tool execution, project context, evals, and agentic workflows
- Build frontend and desktop experiences in React, TypeScript, and Electron
- Integrate with hardware tools and project formats such as KiCad, Altium, schematics, PCB files, and firmware repositories
- Work directly with users to find where AI can meaningfully reduce hardware design friction
What We’re Looking For: Must have:
- Strong production-level software engineering skills, with depth in either
Python/backend systems or
React/TypeScript/frontend systems , and willingness to work across both
- Ability to take clear product goals, make good technical decisions, and ship reliable software without heavy process
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools in real development work
- Genuine interest in AI systems and hardware design
- Clear written and verbal communication
Nice to have:
- Experience with LLM applications, agents, evals, LangChain, tool use, or prompt engineering
- Experience building desktop apps, Electron apps, complex frontend state, or developer tools
- Hardware project experience: robots, drones, embedded systems, PCBs, Formula Student, KiCad/Altium, firmware, or electronics prototyping
- ECE or CS background, or equivalent demonstrated experience across software and hardware
- Examples of shipped products, side projects, open-source work, research papers, or technical demos you can walk us through
You’ll Probably Be A Good Fit If:
- You’ve built things because you had to know if they would work: robots, drones, embedded systems, PCBs, dev tools, research prototypes, side projects, or open-source software
- You’ve felt the pain of real engineering work: debugging firmware at 2am, tracing a bad signal, fighting a toolchain, waiting on a board spin, or making sense of a messy design
- You believe AI should help engineers think better, design faster, and catch mistakes before they become expensive
- You can move fast without treating quality as optional
- You want to help build the future of hardware design, from India, for the world
How We Work: We’re an early team, so ownership matters. We value people who can reason clearly, communicate tradeoffs, use tools effectively, and keep shipping. We work in person from Bangalore because we’re building a high-context product across software, AI, and hardware. The work benefits from fast feedback, whiteboarding, hardware demos, and close collaboration.
