Frontend Engineer

Hunar is seeking a skilled Frontend Software Engineer (SDE-1 level) to maintain and enhance our web-based frontend systems and tools, ensuring an exceptional user experience. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our development and design teams to transform interface designs into functional, responsive, and seamless user interfaces integrated with server-side features. Role Description This full-time, hybrid position is based in Bengaluru. As a Frontend Developer, you will design and implement user interfaces for web applications, ensuring they are responsive, efficient, and deliver a smooth user experience. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement user-facing features using frameworks such as React.js, Material UI, Next.js, or React Native, Storybook.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of designs created by the UI/UX team.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and responsiveness.
• Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
• Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and contribute to technical documentation.
• Lead specific modules or projects, overseeing the design, implementation, launch, and operational phases.
• Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies with guidance from senior developers. Requirements
• At least 2-4 years of experience in React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS, Material UI and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React Native).
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of the modern frontend development ecosystem, including bundling, linting, testing, and deployment tools.
• Experience with testing frameworks like Jest, Cypress, Mocha, or Chai.
• Proficiency in the JavaScript language and its broader ecosystem.
• Hands-on experience in building scalable frontend applications.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies in software development.
• A commitment to writing long-lasting, maintainable code.
• Proven ability to design and build medium-to-large software systems with significant scope and complexity. Preferred Qualifications
• Expertise in front-end development, responsive web design, and overall web development.
• Experience creating user-centric, intuitive web interfaces.
• Proficiency in translating design prototypes, wireframes, and user stories into functional applications.
• Demonstrates a strong focus on customer satisfaction, a sense of ownership, and the ability to work with urgency.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, including Agile workflows, code reviews, and unit testing.
• Familiarity with web service technologies like REST, HTTP, and JSON.
• Solid understanding of professional software engineering practices, including coding standards, testing, source control management, and build processes.
• Strong communication skills for engaging with users, technical teams, and stakeholders to gather requirements and define technical designs.
