We are seeking a senior Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Security Specialist to support a strategic banking and capital markets engagement. The consultant will help accelerate the certification, hardening, governance, and secure adoption of Google Cloud services within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role requires deep GCP security expertise combined with practical experience supporting enterprise security, compliance, and cloud governance programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead security architecture reviews, threat assessments, and hardening activities for Google Cloud services.
• Support cloud service certification, control mapping, evidence collection, and security approval processes required in regulated banking environments.
• Provide expertise across BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Redis, GKE, Cloud Run, and other Google-native services.
• Implement and advise on IAM, VPC Service Controls, Security Command Center, Chronicle, Cloud KMS, CMEK, DLP, and BeyondCorp.
• Design secure landing zones, governance controls, and security guardrails for enterprise cloud adoption.
• Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code deployments using Terraform.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, risk, compliance, and security teams to accelerate cloud adoption while maintaining regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in cloud security, cybersecurity architecture, or enterprise cloud consulting.
• 5+ years of hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience.
• Demonstrated experience supporting banking, capital markets, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience with security control mapping, cloud governance, compliance, audit support, and risk management programs.
• Strong knowledge of Zero Trust principles, identity security, data protection, and cloud-native security services.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and DevSecOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification.
• Experience supporting Tier-1 financial institutions.
• Experience with cloud service onboarding, certification, and security sign-off processes.
• Multi-cloud experience across GCP, AWS, and Azure.
