Job Description — Founding Engineer (Forward Deployed / Product-Minded) — SecureOS

About the role SecureOS is hiring a Founding Engineer who operates like a

Forward Deployed Engineer : close to customers, deeply product-minded, and able to take ambiguous problems from

discovery → architecture → build → ship → iterate . This is a high-ownership role working directly with the founders and core team to shape the platform, product, and execution culture. We’re building an

AI-native, agentic platform for third-party risk and cyber governance continuous evidence ingestion, context/provenance modeling, agentic reasoning, and automated workflows for real enterprise stakes.

What you’ll do

• Own problems end-to-end: define success metrics, design the approach, ship, and iterate quickly
• Spend time with customers: understand pain, propose solutions, validate, and deploy improvements fast
• Architect and implement core systems: services, data models, workflows, and platform primitives
• Build agentic workflows: orchestration, reflection loops, tool integrations (MCP), and reliability safeguards
• Build product surfaces: modern web experiences for investigation, review, and collaboration (including chat-style UX)
• Take systems to production: observability, operational maturity, performance, resilience, and scaling
• Raise the bar: set engineering standards, improve architecture over time, and help shape the team

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years professional software engineering experience (startup/high-ownership experience is a plus)
• “Let me do it” mindset: strong ownership, bias to action, fast learner, comfortable being wrong and rewriting
• Strong system design instincts and the ability to ship real products (not just docs/diagrams)
• Comfort with ambiguity and rapidly evolving requirements
• Strong communication able to explain tradeoffs to founders and customers

Technical skills (not all required) Backend

• Golang, Postgres, graph databases
• APIs, data modeling, caching
• Queues, distributed systems, reliability/operability

Frontend

• React
• HTTP / WebSockets / SSE
• Chat systems, secure frontend patterns
• Great UX instincts and ability to ship polished product surfaces

Cloud / Infra

• AWS / GCP / Azure
• Containers, Kubernetes, networking, autoscaling
• Observability, infra-as-code, deployment pipelines

What success looks like (first 30 days)

• Ship customer-facing improvements tied to real enterprise feedback
• Design and deliver

2–3 core platform capabilities (data model, pipeline, workflow, agent integration) that

autonomously drive measurable enterprise value

• Improve reliability and observability of key services
• Establish crisp engineering practices around shipping, iteration, and operational ownership
