About this role
Location: Bhopal
Employment type: Full-time
Workplace: On-site
Experience level: Mid-Senior level
Job description: We care less about how many frameworks you've memorized and more about whether you can think. We're looking for someone who understands how data moves through a system, debugs methodically, and wants to own a product rather than pick up tickets. Katyayani Organics supplies agricultural inputs to farmers across India. Our mobile app is how farmers and retailers reach us directly — browsing products, placing orders, onboarding their accounts, and tracking what they've bought. It is not an internal tool with a captive audience. It is a real consumer product, competing for attention on the phones of people who will simply stop using it if it is slow, confusing, or unreliable. That makes the engineering constraints unusually real. Your users are on entry-level Android devices, on rural networks that drop mid-transaction, often in a second or third language, and frequently placing an order that represents a meaningful share of a season's input budget. A dropped write is not a bug report — it is a farmer who does not get their order. You will own this application end to end: the Flutter client, the Node.js services behind it, and the release process that puts it in users' hands.
What you'll do
- Design, build, test and ship our cross-platform Flutter application for Android and iOS
- Develop and maintain the Node.js services and APIs that power it, this is a full-stack role, not mobile-only
- Build for genuinely constrained conditions: offline-tolerant flows, low-memory devices, slow and intermittent connectivity
- Implement local persistence, data synchronisation and sensible conflict resolution so users never silently lose work
- Own the release process end to end, Play Store and App Store submission, staged rollout, crash monitoring, post-release triage
- Implement push notifications, analytics and crash reporting, and actually use that data to decide what to fix
- Integrate and debug third-party APIs and webhooks, payments, messaging, logistics
- Profile and improve app size, cold-start time and screen render performance
- Diagnose and resolve production issues across both client and server
- Work directly with the business teams who talk to farmers and retailers, and turn what they hear into product changes
What we're looking for
- Hands-on Flutter and Dart experience, with applications actually shipped to production and live on a store
- Solid state management (Provider, Riverpod or Bloc) and a clear rationale for the choices you have made
- Strong REST API integration, local storage and offline-first patterns
- Working knowledge of Node.js and MongoDB or PostgreSQL — or the appetite and ability to get there quickly
- Experience with Play Store / App Store release processes, signing and versioning
- Strong logical reasoning and methodical debugging — able to form a hypothesis about a failure and test it, rather than guessing
- 2+ years of experience preferred. Exceptional candidates with less experience but genuine production depth are encouraged to apply — we hire on ability, not years.
Nice to have
- Firebase (Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics)
- CI/CD for mobile builds (Codemagic, Fastlane, GitHub Actions)
- Native Android or iOS experience for platform-specific work
- Localisation and multi-language support, particularly Indian languages
- Experience building for low-connectivity or rural markets
- Redis, job queues (BullMQ / Kafka), or other async backend work
- TypeScript and React, for the occasional web surface
Our Stack Flutter, Dart, Node.js (NestJS / Express), TypeScript, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, BullMQ, Firebase, Docker, AWS
What We Offer
- Full ownership of a product real customers choose to use, not an internal tool nobody can opt out of
- Direct feedback from the field: you will see the impact of what you ship within days
- A small, fast-moving team with no layers between you and the decision-makers
- Compensation matched to your skill, not your resume
- The chance to build technology that reaches farmers across India Apply with your resume and Play Store or App Store links to applications you have built.
