About Organisation

Tata Power runs four electricity distribution companies (Discoms) in Odisha through a public-private partnership with the state government. Formed as 51:49 joint ventures between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, these utilities supply reliable power to nearly 10 million consumers across the state.

The Four Odisha Discoms

• TPWODL (TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited)

This Position will be based at TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited, Bhubaneswar, Odisha

Job Purpose

Financial Management & Reporting: Preparing financial statements, monitoring financial performance & reporting key metrics to management and Managing budgeting and forecasting processes

Compliance & Risk Management: Ensuring adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies, managing audits (internal and external) and Identifying and mitigating financial risks

Cost Control & Efficiency: Implementing cost-saving initiatives, monitoring operational expenses & profitability and Optimizing financial processes to improve efficiency Cash

Flow & Treasury Management: Managing cash flow to ensure liquidity, ensuring optimal working capital levels and Overseeing investments and debt management Strategic.

Financial Planning: Supporting business growth strategies with financial insights and Conducting financial analysis for decision-making.

Leadership & Team Management: Leading the finance team & ensuring their development and Coordinating with other departments for financial planning & control.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

Closing of accounts and release of MIS and guidance:

• Monthly/Quarterly Closure of Accounts
• Release of Flash Report/Monthly Financials
• Release of monthly MIS ABP/AOP and Budget Control:
• Prepare the ABP/AOP for the TPWODL • Budget upload in system and monitoring

Tax Compliances: Timely payment of all taxes and return filling

Capitalization: Proper capitalization in SAP system as cap note received form Divisions/Departments

Revenue Accounting Processes: Streamline the CIS integration & ECL Provisioning

Educational Qualifications : CA / CMA

Experience : 15 to 25 years

Knowledge & Skills :

Accounting Standards (IND AS / IFRS): Deep understanding of financial reporting standards.

Corporate Taxation: Practical knowledge of Indian tax laws (GST, TDS, Income Tax).

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis.

ERP Systems (SAP): Proficiency in financial modules and capitalization processes.

Audit Management: Experience in handling statutory and internal audits.

Treasury Management: Working capital, debt management, cash forecasting.

Financial modelling and scenario analysis.

Risk assessment and mitigation planning.

Business acumen and commercial understanding.

Data interpretation and KPI-driven decision-making.

Process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma basics, Lean thinking).
