About this role
Finance Analyst Resonate Solutions — Finance Team Location: Kochi, India (on-site) | Reports to: Finance Manager, Sydney | June 2026
About Us Resonate Solutions is an Australian B2B SaaS company delivering customer experience software to enterprise clients across Australia and globally. Our Finance team works directly with the CEO and Board — your analysis has real visibility and impact from day one.
The Opportunity We are building a two-person Finance team in Kochi and are looking for a Finance Analyst to lead our FP&A, management reporting, and SaaS metrics function. This is not a transactional role — we want someone who can build financial models, run budget vs actuals analysis, and translate data into clear insights for leadership. Critically, you will also be fully cross-trained on the Accountant role. When our Accountant is on leave, you step in and run the full operations cycle independently — invoicing, AR, bank reconciliation, commissions. In a small team, resilience is built through genuine cross-functional capability, not just documentation.
What You'll Do Core Responsibilities — FP&A & Reporting
- MRR & SaaS metrics review — each month, confirm that all MRR movements (new, expansion, contraction, churn) are accurately recorded in Planhat; verify corresponding invoices have been raised on time; surface trends and anomalies to the Finance Manager and CEO
- Management reporting — own the monthly close calendar; deliver P&L analysis and management reports to leadership every month
- Budget vs actuals — run monthly BvA analysis across departments; write variance commentary for CEO and department heads
- Cost analysis — perform deep-dive cost analysis by department and category; identify savings opportunities and flag material cost movements to leadership
- Financial modelling — build and maintain Excel models for rolling forecasts, scenario analysis, and KPI tracking
- Commission & bonus modelling — own the sales commission and CSM bonus models — build, maintain, and update calculation logic as plans change; produce monthly payout reports for department heads
- Rocks & strategic tracking — maintain the company's quarterly Rocks tracker and strategic planning sheets; ensure Finance inputs are current ahead of leadership reviews
- Cross-system reconciliation — regularly reconcile figures across systems (Xero, Planhat, EH, commission models) to ensure all reports are consistent and any discrepancies are identified and resolved before reporting is finalised
- P&C data analysis & recommendations — prepare data analysis reports for the People & Culture team — headcount costs, leave trends, contractor spend, hiring pipeline costs — and provide actionable recommendations to support P&C decision-making
- Board & leadership support — contribute to quarterly Board Pack preparation and ad hoc financial analysis for senior leadership
- Ad hoc support — respond to ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from the CEO, Finance Manager, and department heads in a timely manner
- Process improvement & AI automation — proactively identify opportunities to improve Finance team workflows; support the implementation of process improvements and AI-assisted automation tools to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort
Backup Responsibility (Accountant Cover — Full Run) When the Accountant is on leave or the role is vacant, you run all operational finance processes independently:
- Xero invoicing, AR follow-up, and Debtor Days management
- Xero bookkeeping review & adjust, bank reconciliation review & adjust, and month-end GL journals
- CSM commission calculations and sales commission reconciliation
- Customer contract preparation and contract tracker maintenance
- EH system employee records update (leave, expenses, staff changes) This is not theoretical — you will be cross-trained on every Accountant process during your first 3 months and should be independently capable by month 4.
What We're Looking For Must Have
- 3+ years in FP&A, financial analysis, or management reporting — not audit, not tax, not pure AP/AR
- SaaS industry experience is required — you must have worked with MRR, NRR, GRR, or churn in a real business context
- Advanced Excel — financial models built from scratch; pivot tables, dynamic formulas, INDEX-MATCH; not template filling
- Hands-on budget vs actuals and variance analysis experience — including writing the commentary, not just running the numbers
- Willing and able to fully cover the Accountant role when needed (see above)
- Available from 8:00 IST to ensure overlap with the Sydney team
- Based in Kochi / Ernakulam, or committed to relocating
- Clear written English for regular communication with Sydney leadership
Strong Advantage
- CA / CMA / ACCA qualification (finalist or completed)
- Power BI — dashboard development, not just consumption
- Xero experience
- Experience reporting to or presenting to overseas stakeholders (CFO, Board)
- Uses AI tools in day-to-day finance work
Why This Role
- Your reports go directly to the CEO and Board — real visibility, not buried in a large team
- Own the FP&A and SaaS metrics function from day one
- Build genuine commercial finance skills across both analytical and operational finance
- Stable, bootstrapped business with a strong enterprise client base
- Regular cross-timezone collaboration with Sydney leadership
