Field Service Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Install, commission, and calibrate laser machines, CNC systems, and automated production equipment at client sites.
2. Perform breakdown analysis and repairs - mechanical, electrical, and software faults.
3. Conduct preventive maintenance and AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) services.
4. Train customer operators and technicians during machine handover and support visits.
5. Ensure proper documentation - service reports, installation checklists, and customer feedback.
6. Coordinate with in-house RD and design teams for root cause analysis and technical improvements.
7. Maintain a service ticketing system via ERP/CRM for timely task resolution.
8. Provide remote support and guidance when on-site service is not required.
9. Escalate unresolved issues internally and follow up until closed.

Tools Software

1. ERP/ Service CRM (for job cards, reports)
2. MS Excel / Word / Google Docs
3. Basic familiarity with diagnostic tools (multimeter, software tools, calibration jigs)

Work Environment Travel

1. 60-70% travel to client locations across India (and sometimes overseas)
2. Travel, lodging, and allowances are company-paid as per policy.
3. Off-site or remote support duty on rotation (for critical customers)

Skills Qualifications

1. Diploma / BE in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
2. 1-5 years of experience in machine servicing / field installation preferred.
3. Hands-on skills with electrical panels, drives, sensors, actuators.
4. PLC (Siemens / Delta), HMI, basic programming.
5. Pneumatics and mechanical assemblies.
6. Laser machines (Fiber / UV / CO) - a big advantage.
7. Basic troubleshooting on PC-based control software and CNC controller interface.
8. Fluent in service documentation, customer interaction, and problem-solving.
