Fashion Design Intern - Couture & Occasion Wear

Shreekama is looking for a talented and creative Fashion Design Intern to join our studio and work directly on custom and occasion-wear requirements.

The role involves understanding client requirements, providing design and styling consultation, developing suitable garment concepts, sourcing fabrics and trims, and coordinating the design from concept to finished garment.

Key responsibilities:

• Understand client preferences, occasion, fit and design requirements
• Consult clients and suggest suitable designs, fabrics, colours and silhouettes
• Create or communicate design concepts and modifications
• Source fabrics, laces, trims, embellishments and other materials
• Explain client requirements and design details clearly to the master/tailor
• Coordinate sampling, fittings, alterations and final garment development
• Ensure the finished garment reflects the agreed design and client requirements

Were looking for someone with:

• Strong fashion sense and design ability
• Excellent understanding of fabrics, silhouettes, colours and embellishments
• Good communication and client-handling skills
• Ability to understand requirements and translate them into practical garments
• Basic knowledge of garment construction and tailoring
• Strong attention to detail
• Fashion/Apparel Design background preferred

Candidates with strong practical design skills and a good understanding of Indian ethnic and occasion wear will be preferred.

This is a hands-on opportunity to work with real clients and be involved in the complete journey from client requirement design material sourcing tailoring finished garment.
