Desired Candidate Profile
1. Good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and defect mechanisms.
2. Knowledge of glass-related defects such as cracks, chipping, scratches, stains, breakage, surface defects and contamination.
3. Basic knowledge of glass fracture analysis / fractography.
4. Exposure to chemical processes such as etching, strengthening, cleaning, polishing, slurry chemistry and surface treatment.
5. Ability to interpret chemical and material analysis reports.
6. Working knowledge of microscopes and inspection tools.
7. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability and report-writing skills.
8. Ability to independently drive FA activities with cross-functional teams.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement process improvements to reduce defect rates and increase productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues related to product quality and reliability.
- Identify and analyze defects in glass materials through visual inspection, microscopy, and other methods.
- Conduct failure analysis of glass products using techniques such as FTIR, XRD, SEM, and EDX.
- Provide technical support for production operations by troubleshooting problems and providing solutions.
